Dr Wu is available to discuss practical vascular education for your practice, including vein assessment, peripheral arterial disease, leg ulcers and dialysis access.

Vascular assessment and management
Dr Michael Wu is a vascular, endovascular and transplant surgeon providing assessment and management of arterial and venous conditions, aneurysms and dialysis access problems. He consults at six locations across Melbourne’s eastern and western suburbs.
What to include with a referral
Please include the reason for referral and urgency, relevant history and medications, any existing investigation or imaging results, patient contact details, your contact details and the preferred consulting location.
Please advise the rooms if the patient has a preferred consulting location.
Bulk-billed ultrasound at your patient’s consultation
Bulk-billed vascular ultrasound scans can be performed at all six consulting locations at the time of consultation, where clinically indicated.
You do not need to arrange a separate vascular ultrasound before referring. Please include any imaging already performed so it can inform the assessment. Contact the rooms for consultation fee information.
Conditions and services
- Varicose veins and venous disease: Ablation, sclerotherapy and surgery where appropriate.
- Peripheral arterial disease: Assessment, angioplasty and stenting, and bypass surgery where appropriate.
- Leg ulcers and diabetic foot problems: Vascular assessment of ulcers and non-healing wounds.
- Aortic and peripheral aneurysms: Assessment, surveillance and treatment planning for abdominal, thoracic and peripheral aneurysms.
- Carotid artery disease: Assessment and management, including surgery where indicated.
- Dialysis access: Access planning and creation, surveillance, and assessment of access problems.
- Pelvic venous disorders: Assessment of suspected pelvic congestion and discussion of management options.
Dr Wu writes to the referring clinician with assessment findings and the proposed management plan. Clinical queries can be discussed through the main rooms.
